Worthy Is the Lamb (part 1)

Is your perspective of Jesus’ glory up to the same level as that of heaven?

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” – Revelation 5:12

The beginning point of trusting and making Jesus your lord is seeing Him from heaven’s perspective. Over the next week we’re going to dig deeper into fixing that heavenly perspective in our hearts and minds, but before we do that, let’s set the scene.

John, in a vision, is being shown an image of heaven’s throne room, which is similar to the one in the 6th chapter of Isaiah. All of the elders and creatures around the throne are worshipping God. In the hand of God is a scroll and its description correlates to how a will would have appeared in John’s time. The question is asked, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and loose its seals?” – Revelation 5:2 (NKJV). With boldness, the Lamb steps forward and takes the scroll from God’s hand. When He does, all of heaven erupts in worship.

Do you see Jesus as an equal to God? When you are discouraged or in rebellion against God’s will, it might do you well to remember that your Lord not only died for your sins and was raised from the dead, but He was also given the inheritance of God. Keep the image of Jesus’ boldness in taking the inheritance of God from His hand as we spend the next seven days examining what Jesus inherited.

Focus: Who has the boldness to take the inheritance of God out of God’s own hand?
